CCA - Caring for Carers & Families is an organisation committed to acknowledging and honouring all Carers for the incredible effort and love they show each and every day. We welcome you to our website and our family, we look forward to connecting with you all. Our founder Alison Layton has been a Carer for 27 years and is the reason our beautiful organisation exists to love and support Carers.
We are people who have compassion at our core. It is with this compassion we develop initiatives that make Carer’s lives easier.
According to Deloitte Access Economics the demand for informal care is set to outstrip its supply.
The need for Carers is at an all-time high with one-in-eight Australians providing informal care. According to the Deloitte Access Economics Report, The Economic Value of Informal Care, the demand for carers will double in some areas in the next seven years.
The report commissioned by Carers Australia has found Australians provide 1.9 billion hours ($60.3 billion) in unpaid care in a single year looking after family members and friends who are aged, chronically ill or have a disability.
The report warns of an ever-widening Carer gap and points to modelling that shows that by 2025, only 42 per cent of people with a severe disability who are aged over 65 years and not living in residential care will have access to an unpaid family and friend Carer.
We need to honour and acknowledge Carers to support them in the invaluable service they provide to not only their loved one but to our communities.
